Charlie Moriarty

Sales Representative

The man, the myth, the legend! I’m a hard person to sell to, but somehow my mans Charlie pulled it off. He got me into a brand new lease when I went in to buy out my first lease. Not sure what this magic is, but this guy has it!

I was undecided & hesitant about buying the new truck that day in 2020, until (after an awkward pause) Charlie said “I dunno, maybe it’s just too much truck for ya, Collin.”   I immediately heard myself saying “Where do I sign?”

Theresa Moss

Finance Manager

This beautiful person that I call Mah has over 300 5-star reviews on DealerRater, and I am not surprised.  In her own words: “As someone who doesn’t know (or even want to know!) much about actual vehicles, I love working at Heritage Ford because I care about the people who drive them.” This statement could not be more true, and if you have the pleasure of working with her, you’re in expert hands.

"I'm looking for a woman in finance."

I didn’t realize I even have a ‘woman in finance,’ but turns out my mom’s the real deal! She helped me set up my account at Fifth Third Bank and found me the best car loan. Oh, and she made sure I got all the warranty packages I need — after breaking down the coverage, it all really makes sense! Who needs a trust fund when your mom’s got financial wisdom like that?

This plan covers the big three: windshield, wheels, and body of the truck. Dents or cracked windshield? No problem, it's covered.. with exceptions.

CABS AH HEEYA!

– “The Situation”

Ford offers three different cab styles: Regular, SuperCab, and SuperCrew. Below are a few specs on each of the cabs offered.

The smallest cab of the three options and has only 2 doors. This is only available on the lowest tier XL model Ford has. These trucks are used as utility vehicles to get the job done.

This cab option is a step up from the regular cab, giving the truck a backseat. However SuperCab trucks have suicide doors, meaning you need to open the front door before opening the smaller back door. Space is also limited for the backseat. My previous F-150 was a SuperCab.

This is the cab my truck came with. It’s shown in the featured image and has four full size doors. It’s the most spacious cab Ford offers (any truck on the market even, in 2020). Folding the seats up in the back gives you a truck bed in the cab, in addition to the actual truck bed.

Truck Bed Size Options

Like the cab style options, Ford offers three different bed sizes.

5.5 Foot Bed (My Truck)

Although it's the smallest truck bed size it is the most popular. It allows for easy maneuvering and parking, while still providing a substancial amount of space for load. Space lost in the bed, is made up in the cab with the SuperCrew. Notice how defensive I got.

Handling 87%
Cubic Load 66%

6.5 Foot Bed

My previous truck with a smaller cab had this size bed and it was nice because you never had to worry about things not fitting in the bed. But this size truck bed paired with the cab I have now is not my first choice.

Acceleration 64%
Handling 45%
Cubic Load 74%

8 Foot Bed

You might as well be driving a bus. 8 foot beds are ridiculous, but if you don't mind taking 48 hours to make a turn and you plan on hauling your friend's mom, then this is the truck bed for you.

Acceleration 37%
Handling 28%
Cubic Load 95%

1996 Jeep Wrangler 4X4

Back in the day.. Big Jeep guy. That Collin would be disappointed to know I still don’t have a Wrangler.

1997 Subaru Forester

Poppin off – Eggshell White. The Hoopty was my first car in high school and I loved this thing. Absolute tank in the snow. I also made CD’s so I could listen to my music in

2006 Volkswagen Jetta

Pearl! The family Jedi was good to me even though I felt like it was the epitome of a high school girl’s car. Stick shift, front wheel drive that got me to my college classes senior year.

2017 Ford F-150 XLT FX4

GrayWorm was my first new vehicle that I leased. I treated myself after graduating from college and landing my first big boy job.

Defining a Truck

Sometimes people refer to their vehicles as a truck and it can get confusing. To help, ChatGPT has given a definition of what a truck really is.

A truck is a motor vehicle designed primarily to transport cargo. It typically has a larger and sturdier structure than a car, allowing it to carry heavy loads. They often feature an enclosed cabin for the driver and a cargo area that may be open (like a flatbed) or enclosed (like a box truck). Trucks are commonly used in industries such as construction, logistics, and agriculture for transporting goods, materials, and equipment. There are some cars that resemble with some features of a truck such as a Subaru Baja or Honda Ridgeline, but should not be confused with an actual truck.

Fifth Third Bank

In my personal experience, they are a solid bank to work with. To be honest my mom (finance manager at Ford, who did my paper work, and up-sold me on all the packages to make a quick buck) set me up with them as my bank for financing the truck because they offered the best interest rate and were easiest to work with. I have not communicated or interacted with them directly at all.. but they are great!

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some answers to frequently asked question about my Ford and my leasing experience.

If you want to pay for a vehicle that you won’t own (and never will unless you buy it out), drive the latest new vehicles, and repeat those steps every three years, absolutely. Leasing does have some sizable perks. Just to name a few, you are driving the latest cars or at least latest within the last 3 years and a big one in my book is never needing to worry about car problems and service bills. So leasing can be great for many people.

However, I do suggest, as a professional from all my years of experience, for people looking to purchase a new vehicle to go to dealerships and ask to see all the leased turn-ins. This is the best deal in my humble opinion, because the car is only three years old and the dealer had to refurbish it to sell it like new. Cars depreciate as soon as you drive off the lot so that leased vehicle is priced a lot lower than the new vehicle. It could be sitting next to this years model on the lot and be half the cost because it is technically a used vehicle (this is not financial advice, used car markets fluctuate often and this statement may be incorrect).

The Premium Maintenance plan, yes. It covers a lot, from my transmission falling apart to free oil changes when needed, this plan is worth it. However the other two I don’t know if I would purchase again. TripleCARE seems great until you read the fine print and realize it does not cover dents over 4 inches wide, and windshield cracks over 6 inches long.  dents larger than a baseball. The assessment of damage is ultimately left to the discretion of the service engineer. So who knows if I will have the problems covered if and when I face them. I can’t speak much to the Continuous Customer Care plan yet because I my factory warranty has not expired and I have not needed the roadside assistance perk.

These are the different trim packages that you can get with a Ford F-150. XL is barebones and usually only utility vehicles have this package. XLT is the most common, and is work/luxury combo. Other packages like King Ranch and Lariat are mostly just luxury vehicles and come at a high price point.

33 Gallons, and it does not need to be premium. Even though it is a high performance machine.
